The studio offers open dance, group classes and private lessons in tango, bachata, salsa and more.īut it’s not just about dance: the free language classes focus on song lyrics, opening the door to a better understanding of the culture where the dance originates. Tucked behind the new Texas Barbecue and Whistle Punk Brewery in downtown Spokane, Satori takes a little effort to find-but it’s well worth the search. Now, the organization has its own gallery space year-round in which it hosts classes and rotating exhibits by local artists. Terrain is known for its once-a-year bash that’s part art exhibit, part concert and downtown Spokane’s biggest party of the year. Each class costs $15 and is open to artists of all skill levels who are 18 or older. Sunday afternoon figure drawing classes at the Terrain gallery space use live models, beginning with a few short poses and moving to longer drawing times as the session progresses. Whether through movement or creating something with your hands, learning together makes for meaningful and memorable experiences.
